I found a Thunderbird forum...I registered, but you have to be registered for 4days before you can post for some reason. Its a problem I need fixed ASAP, so I thought maybe someone can help

Its my wifes car, its a 4.6. Pretty much stock except for a CAI. It always ran great, w/ a surprising amount of pep for a small V8. Well when she had my son, she didn't drive it for a few weeks, and when she finally did, it was running like crap. Well the CEL finally came on so I scanned it. Got a #4 cylinder misfire. Wires were already changed a few months prior, so I changed the plugs, changed the coil for that side. Problem got slightly better, but eventually coded again. Pulled the #4 plug again, and noticed the wire boot was pretty wet. At first thought it might have something to do w/ a leaking heater core, so went through the PIA of changing that but to no avail. Well after further inspection I finally found a crack on the crappy composite intake manifold. Right above the #4 wire there is water neck w/ what I believe is a heater hose running to it, just slowly draining water into the recessed hole where the plug is. A new NPI intake is $300. Money is really tight for the next month or so and I've heard some things about people swapping a PI intake onto NPI heads. Has anyone heard or experienced anything like this? About 15 more HP and $100 cheaper, but if its not sealed right it'll leak. Not sure I want to venture into that, unless I know its done right. My other option is to try to epoxy the crack. From what I understand, its common for these manifolds to crack, but usually in the thermostat area, and any corresponding info I find is about just that. And they say epoxy won't hold. But I thought I may have different results w/ a different area. I was wondering if you guys have had any experience w/ epoxy w/ water leaks and how it might hold up. Sorry for being so long winded, felt like I was writing a book for a second:biggrin: Thanks
