On thursday I will be droping my pan to replace the spring in the Line Bias valve with a roll pin, but I have a few questions.

1. will replacing the spring with a solid pin raise the part throttle shifts points?
2. will this firm up or effect all gears in part throttle, 1-2 2-3 3-4?
3. what does the line bias do in relation to the pressure regulator valve because I notice that the modulated TV runs from the Pressure regulater valve to the line bias valve, does it increase line pressure?
4. will doing this cause more holding pressure for the clutches and band and or will this cause firmer full throttle as well?

Sorry for all the questions I just always like to know why I'm doing what I'm doing, Thanks So Much Again For Your Time!!!

You can answer most of ?'s by searching on here...

It is designed as a mini-regulator for the TV pressure that is sent to the main TV boost valve in the pump.

At a certain throttle position, the line bias valve will slightly reduce the TV signal to the main regulator; ex. TV press. = 75 psi, line bias press.= 71 psi.

A stiffer spring will raise the point at which this pressure reduction mode takes place. At TCI, we like to simply block this valve closed; i.e. no reduction.

1. as far as I know it shouldn't effect part throttle.

2. Line bias spring reduces shift harshnes (firmness), stiff or blocked will firm all shifts

3. TV pressure becomes MTV press. and at the line bias it is regulated to regulate the PR valve.

4. Yes! your correct.

So cool, Now that was a good mod, the shifts under 1/4 are about the same but the shifts above 1/4 firmen up super fast with great shifting force and full throttle is even firmer as well. I never thought I could break my front tires loose (Riviera's are FWD V8s) because of the weight of the engine but on some road surfaces about 50% of the roads I drive on any more then 1/2 throttle will break them loose with a screeching sound, thats kinda cool did'nt expect that:eek: Well except for getting the tractor fluid next week I think I'm done with my tranny mods for now. I want to thank HOTTOGO for all the wonderful help, I know your short on time because you work alot of hours but your help is what made me gets things done right.

Awe isn't that special...

Glad everything worked out and glad I could help! :D
