Ok guys i dont have any of the intercooler pipes hooked up yet but i had to start it.

This is the problem , when i start the car it idles real high , come to find out i checked my tps tec and the tps is wide open at idle [ adv light is on] if i push the tps down the right idle light comes on and it idles nice even with the pipe not hooked up.

what am i doing wrong with the tps or is it hooked up wrong or just not the right one:confused:

Is the TPS tec for the 84-85 or the 86-87? Remember you are using a 87 sensor. Unplug the TPS tec and check the voltage. If that doesn't work check out your grounds.

It came with the tb so i guess its a 86-87. It seems to be working backwards or something, when the tb is closed the tps read open but when the tb is wot the tps is where it should be at idle. Do the 84-85 tps the same looking as the 86-87's .

so much to do and such little time:(

Your using the extension Jay sent ya right? If so it should be all good. Give Jay a buzz - he'll help ya out.

I bought the intake used, so iam not sure what i have . Would it be cool if i got some pictures of the tb and intake so you could see the tps mounted on the tb .

I'll email you some after work if its cool.

Hey crazygn. The tM I/C kit comes with an extention cord/connector to plug the tps in and have lots of room to tidy up the cords. The 86/7 tps's are different from the 84/5's. The arm on the tps is reversed on them, as the throttle on the hotairs is on the right side, and the throttle on the 86/7's are on the left. That extention connector that is included with the tM kit reverses the 2 wires which read WOT, and idle, so they are backwards to compensate for using the 86/7 tps the thirs wire (ground) does not move.. If you're not using that cord, or you don't have it, then that's your problem. Just reverse the 2 wires on the tps connector, and she should work fine. HTH

Do you guys know what wires get changed over , i changed the grey and blue and left the black the way it was and now my tps tec wont work, is the black the ground or the blue, i might have the wires backwards.

Ok i changed the wires over on the tps but now it just does not work at all. The car idles real high and the tps codes are coming up , tps tec lights dont come on . did i kill it or what iam getting p---- at this thing now.

All the pipes are hooked up now , i did it when i got up today.Tps still not working and turbo still making noises.
