I'm getting a little knock when in first gear when getting on the gas. It is only one or two degrees and not all the time also I'm not laying the pedal to the floor when this happens it is only at half throttle. When in second or third gear and I punch it I get none. Every so often the car will hesitate or die from a dead stop when I punch the gas. What could this be? I'm thinking my fuel preasure might be a little high even though it is at about 41psi with the line off.

My car stumbles off idle if you punch it from a stop, I believe this is an inherient problem with the 42.5lbs injectors. Mine has never died though.

As for fuel pressure, I wouldn't think 41psi would be too rich.

Not clear but if you have the stock turbo,
prolly not as much fuel needed. Stocker wouldn't put out enough air flow, IMO.
I would ask what setting or specs of the thumbwheel.
Knock is bad but in 1st gear is more tolerable.
Why people have Hi Boost launches with or without knock delay.
Any knock in higher gears under load would be more critical.
You really need some scan data when this occurs to see what's going on.
You might want to check out Eric's chips.

I've heard alot of good things about his chips.
I'm getting ready to install the42.5#'rs with a maxeffort setup.
I'm sure other s will chime in.

nope,it's an inherent problem with your chip burner:D.

i have no lag or hesitation problems with my 16 pos. maxeffort and bosch 42.5#s.

i actually had pretty good luck with my original mm chip that i got with my injectors.better idle and spoolup with the maxeffort tho.

I had a problem running the thrasher, I've been using Red Armstrong's 93 chip.

Sean, whats the ballpark $ for max effort? How many of the 16 settings do you actually like to use? TIA

16 pos. maxeffort is $360.

how many positions you use depends on your individual car and conditions.once you get it dialed in you won't be messing with it much.the nice thing is that you can dial it in for your specific car instead of having to send it back to be reburned,or having to live with an improper chip.

really the only changes you should have to make after the initial tuning phase is switching to race setting at the track.

Chad - what problems did u have with the Thrasher ?

I have it and it doesn't seem to be running right. Thot it was my stock MAF but nope...it now has the LT-1 MAF and Translator. Bettre idle but I can build any boost.

Sounds way different too...even just cruising along...seems to 'chug'

Maybe its getting too much gas ???

Ya. Thats what I thought.

Guess you pay 25 bucks for a chip - you get 25 bucks worth performance huh...

Suggest any chips ?

I was thinkin maybe a Red Armstrong 93 chip...I drive my car on the street only.

I dont need anything fancy at all...but i'd like to have the car run somewhat normally! Ive only been working on it for 3 yrs now...I wouldnt mind drivin' it.
