AC Compressor Dress Up Cover..???

Hey guys,
I bought a billet dress up nose that screws into the female pipe threads in the center of the clutch. Problem is...the nose came with an adapter but the thread is not correct. I'm assuming my new compressor may have different threads then the OEM compressor. Does anyone know what size the threads are?

Donnie, I did install a dress up nose for my a/c compressor a while ago and even if I followed the instructions it still managed to come off, lost it and never found it back…bummer… All that was left is the adapter fitting which screws into the clutch stored in my tool box (you can have for free it if you want a spare)…I remember that thing having a standard thread at one end and a reversed one at the other end with a set screw to secure it against the middle of the compressor shaft. I chose not to buy another one because I find that fastening method quite "flimsy" to say the least and also because the compressor is almost hidden down there and no one really pays attention to it. I just installed the polished stainless steel band but that's it.
I have a dress up nose on my Chevelle's Vintage Air setup which is held there by three allen screws and never had a problem with it.
My advice: keep the stainless steel band and ditch the nose piece…

I'm gonna machine one from scratch. I'll measure the threads and make it bolt onto the fitting that goes into the clutch. The fitting that came with my nose does not even come close to fitting.

Coach, one piece of advice, do leave some space between the nose and the clutches. Got mine to close and it lock up the clutches to the AC comp. almost burned it up.

No sweat...I already designed the whole thing. Just need to measure the threads in the clutch and then machine the part. Mine will bolt on with a 3/8-16 Flat head cap screw.
