Anybody tried a reman mass air sensor from AC Delco? I just found out that AC was doing the mass air sensor for our cars and was hopeful that it was better than the others out there.

Damn, I was hoping somebody had. I've had one sitting on my desk for 4 months now. It is the 2.8/3.1 style body(straight plug). Usually Delco buys this type of part from Cardone and throws it in a Delco box. I busted my laptop so I cant run the T-Link to get anything usefull to compare it to. And my thrust bearing on the turbo is on its last leg(smoking like heck) so I cant do a seat of the pants test either. Anybody in the Orlando area who wants to test it let me know. MSRP is $105.43 so the price is comparable to the Cardone and Wells units.

I've had to pull a few of those out of friend's cars over recent history. Like most, they are junk, and not properly calibrated for a turbo car (calibrated for N/A). Seldom willl they read full values. will never reach much over 230's.

Just because it's got the AC Delco moniker doesn't mean much anymore now days.

I've had good luck with the first Wells unit I bought back around 97. It went 5 years before crapping out. The Cardone I replaced it with was good for the first year and than it took AutoZone two trys the get the current one right, and I dont think it is running at 100% either. The Wells had the original style body and the Cardones have the straight out style plug so I'm thinking maybe that is where the problem is at. Something aint perfected in the reflashed cards of those 2.8/3.1 units. I guess for some of us a reman'd MAF is the cheap way out compared to a Translator. I tell you if this Delco unit doesn't do chit than I'm getting a Translator. Its going to be a heck of a lot cheaper in the long run than screwing around with those POS's.

I did notice on this Delco unit that where they seperate the body halves with a hot knife the cuts are real clean compared to the Cardone units. I wonder who is rebuilding them for Delco?
