Accumulator???

Can anyone tell me what an accumulator does, what it looks like and how hard it is to change? My brake light comes on sometimes and you good people said it probably was the accumulator.

Very good info above. There's a section on the accumulater as well, about 3/4 down the page.

It probably is the accumulator. Mine was like that for two years before I started searching for a fix and found gnttype.org and this great place.

I replaced the pressure switch first with no change. I got it through a friend at a dealer for $28!! (I know they are ALOT more now) but that didn't do it. At least I have a good spare.

I had the flashing light and did the accumulator and all's well.
Its easy to change, just need a BIG wrench. Good luck.
