Adj wastegate question??

I have an 87 TR that is stock but with an adj wastegate and a K&N cone air filter. Before I had the motor rebuild the VDO boost gauge read 14 lbs max. I just had the motor rebuild back to stock and now when you stab it, it goes to 22 lbs. The threaded rod on the wastgate doesn't look like it has been moved at all. What can cause this and how can I fix it? Thanks guys.

The 8# increase meant your engine was overdue for a rebuild. Lots of reasons but your engine builder should be able to tell you.

I'd lengthen the actuator rod until you have to use minimal effort to hook it to the swing arm and then drive it again.

Depending the type of fuel your are using, 15-16#'s would be a good starting point.

Do you have a knock sensor or a Scanmaster? 22#'s quite a bit if you are running 91 pump gas w/o alky and you don't want another rebuild this soon.
