adjustable wastegate and/or electronic boost controller

I recently ordered a stock adj wastegate for my GN from agressive auto. but then it occured to me i was really wanting to put an electronic boost controller in like i had in my 83 280zx turbo.. is it redundant to have both or are there any benefits to putting the adj wastegate on along with a boost controller?
