As my 87 GN is going to storage for the winter I am considering a couple of maintenance re and re's.
Its basically a street driven stocker with about 80,000 miles, most of which are not my responsibility. It appears as though she has never been driven very hard either, so rather than go and beat on her next year and break something I was thinking that fresh valve springs and timing chain would go along way to keeping things together in the future.
Are there any other crucial parts that should be considered at this time?
Is this the time to install upgraded parts, or would it be wise to just replace with stock spec parts?
Your thoughts and opinions are encouraged.
thanks in advance.

depends on what ur goals r for the car but if ur replacing springs and timing chain, there isnt too much in the way of performance upgrades there. an upgraded cam maybe but if its a stocker then thats not needed. the only thing i would rec. would be to replace the water pump since ur there when doing the chain. hth!
