Aftermarket Boost Guage???

Hey, When I purchased my car, it already has a VDO boost guage on the a-pillar..I've driven the car twice since I bought it (I don't have my license) and I realized that the guage isn't responding to the boost. What could be the problem??
Where is an aftermarket guage hooked up to? What should I look for?
Please be specific..I don't know much about this..thanks

U need to follow the boost line that feeds into the guage. The problem can be anywhere from there back. If the line is crimped it will not respond. They can be hooked just about anywhere off of a manifold hose.
