My Regal (84, 231) has a rusty ass air filter cover on it and i want to change it but not put a stock one back on, Is there any special one i can put on like a cold air kit or an open air filter cover? The only thing is what about the hose that connects to the air filter cover? i looked around for one but i don't see any that have the hole to connect that hose to. What would be the best one and about how much?

Thanks
Patrick

The hose feed hot air to the carb during cold winter months (aka THERMAC). Without it the carb will bog when you hit the gas. An open element air cleaner would defeat the purpose.

When temps are above 40-50°F, you don't need THERMAC, so in the summer, run an open element, but put it back for winter.
