I have read about some of the other brands but I would like some opinions on the varying brands of alcohol kits. Certainly there are tons of kudos about Razors kit but what are some of the distinguising characteristics between the kits assuming you get them all progressive?

Let's say between SMC, Razor's, DevilsOwn, AEM, and others?

Alkycontrol

Reliability, customer service, quality parts.

I think the progressive controller is the best part for me.

you answered your own question. razor on down i would say is the list. do a search on this you will see. not knocking others for trying but when one is perfected even with a failsafe for an accessory, pretty much already setup for u when you get it, one knob tuning, outstanding customer service ect. ect. i could go on but this has been beat to death

Like Grumpy says, it's winter! Beat us to death! It's not like we have anything else to do.;)

One distinguishing characteristic would be non-linear flow available with some.

Then again if you don't know why you might need it, it's not worth beating to death. :p

There's not much to prove spritzing alky. into the up-pipe, been done successfully with and, of course, without kits for years.

Well, over a decade now fer sure. :)

If you want the best customer service SMC.

As some are new to the alky world, it is not necessarily beating the subject. I am curious as I might be making the move to alky.

Grumpy, you going to run in the alky class in Bowling Green.?

I don't think Melissa is goin but I am thinkin of draggin my "tin can" down

Hopefully they'll let hybrids run the class. I'm cool with it as long as it meets the weight requirements.

That Mazda can't be any more aerodynamic than a TTA.

I have only used SMC kits from early days (before the others came out) to the Pro unit now. Steve takes good care of you. I am sure Julio does as well & they are priced similar so go with who you are comfortable with. Steve has been around since Day 1 & for that he must get some credit for that no matter what else is said or thought about the kits.

Hopefully our kit with the new controller will be for sale by springtime. We're doing stuff a little different in so much that our controller will replace just about everyone's on the market as a drop in with about any kit that uses the SF pump.

All digital controllers are probably going to be the next rage. I know some people will say "If it aint broke, dont fix it" but if people arent innovating then the hobby just stagnates.

Ive looked at several digital controllers and it looks like ours and Cooling Mist could give each other's a run for their money. The CM controller looks pretty nice and has some cool features. Ours does a few things theirs doesnt do and vice versa. Variety is good.. people can choose the features that work for them.

+1
Same here, I bought my first kit probably 5 years ago and now have the progressive kit. Steve has always bent over backwards to help with any situation that came up. Not knocking the others (I know Julio makes a great product), but I love my SMC kit.
