I was curious...I have heard people run straight methanol in Razor's Kit, I've heard methanol and water, and I have heard methanol with 2 cycle bean oil mixed to an 80/1 ratio. Just wondering if anyone can give me insight on what's best, or if you have other ideas. Let me know. :cool:

My suggestion is straight alcohol. No OIL as it can cuase detonation..

But if the pump used needs oil for lubrication.. then a small amount must be run. On my pump.. no oil.

The water run deal.. if your goals are moderate.. run a mix if you so wish.
 
I use 50/50

I mix one part methanol, and, another equal part methanol.... ;)

And I top it off often :D
 
I started with a 12.5 AFR and a 50/50 mix--I'm going to a 100% Alky to see if things richen up tomorrow.If they dont,I am going to increase pump preassure a bit.If I still have some room to increase AFR after that then I'll go to the larger nozzle that came with the kit.I noticed some forums lean towards ALKY some towards water.

Put the car on a dyno.. start tuning.. tell me what makes the most power.

BTW what forums lean torwards water? Definately not the Vette forums.
 
ok back to back test today ... beater Camaro... 305 :eek: 75/30 mix ran a 9.92 @ 137....drained out and ran all methonal ...9.76 @ 140 :eek:
 
Went to 100% methanol,AFR is now down to11.9-12to1. It was at12.5 with a 50/50 mix.This is at WOT on a cool day on a 3 mile run.The MAF sampling variable controller is now coming on too early,I would say due to the cooler inlet air temps(ambient)making the thing read higher voltage at less throttle opening.Now the onset is too soon.even though I have it set at 4.8 volts it comes on at 0 vacume before I even get into boost.I think they had a good idea with the MAF controller but its not perfected.I may need to try another controller.

How can you run more than a mix when theyre system will not tolerate any higher concentrations than 50/50?

This is why I asked.. as I know where your going to point me ;)

And you will be richer when you use straight alcohol. But runs on a highway and relying on the butt dyno.. not very scientific.
 
I'll be dynoing by tuesday...I'm also going to try the 100 shot.hopefully The Methanol will allow me to keep my ignition timing the same on the juice as off. Butt Dyno :rolleyes:
 
Here is a question for you guys. This post was on the board linked to above. Is there any truth at all to this statement about injecting pre-turbo?
