Alky and Blue Tops

I've been getting my info together for the install of my alky kit this weekend. I have had my car for a long time and I should know a lot more about it, but I don't. I guess its good that I check with experienced people before I go to far and cause damage. My question this time is about boost settings. When I first got the car 10 plus years ago I put an adjustable waste gate on it. This is when I still lived at home and after work had nothing to do but fool with the car. I know that with my chip (caspers blue top performer) I am running about 17 pounds of boost. I'm getting ready to check my fuel pressure to make sure it is correct. I do get just a little detnation which I know is bad. It is when the weather is hotter outside and I understand that is normal to have a chance of detnation with warmer weather...correct? With the alky that should stop...correct? With the wastegate being adjustable I should be able to adjust my boost there, or will the chip override it and end up back at 17. I can't remember... How much should I expect to be able to turn the boost up to. I have ran race gas with 20 pounds at no problem whatsoever. MAN! I remember the difference that made! Think I can run 20 pounds on 93 octane with alky, with the blue top injector installed?I have stock turbo if that makes a difference.

-warmer weather=hotter air=stock intercooler=more possibility of knock, I think.

With the alky that should stop...correct?

-The ECM will not interfere with you adjusting the boost level. I currently run 20-22 pounds with stock turbo/blue tops. Ensure that you get a chip from someone. Many have had luck with www.turbotweak.com. Eric is a super guy!

Good luck, I have pretty much the same setup as yours and I'm loving it. Will one day upgrade turbo/converter/inj...for now it's nice saying it's almost stock and runs low 13's...
