Alcohol.
I have been reading here about the injection, I just have a couple questions.

I understand that the Alky is to prevent detonation, my question is HOW?

Does it lower EGT's significantly?

I assume you can set it up like an extra injector with a boost source, say at 20 psi to turn on the solonoid to start injecting.

Where do you inject, you personally.
Before Throttle Plate? After?

I am sure I have other questions, but that is all I can think of right now.

i'm no pro at this, i'm working on getting everything together to make my own alochol system. but i think i can answer some of your questions.

from what i've heard it reduces detonation 2 ways, 1 it lowers air temp and 2 alochol has an octane of 110, so injecting it raises your octane when you need it. i'm not too sure on that either, but if you look around theres a lot of stuff about it.

i dont' know about egt...

the normal way to hook it up is a nitrous nozzel in the up pipe, (i've seen it in the intercooler too), a pump, and a switch activated by pressure (hobbs switch). once a pressure is reached, usually 10-15 psi it opens the hobbs switch, that flips a relay to turn on the pump, the pump feeds the alky to the nozzel, and you have no more knock.

another way is propane, its a lot less common, mainly because it costs a lot more ($600 vs $300, or as cheap as $150 if you do it yourslef) it doesn't cool the air, i'm not sure on the exact differences but they both do reduce detonation. the up sides to it are its a lot cheaper to use, $2.50 for a refill that lasts forever, or about $2 a gallon for methanol (not much more expensive) theres no pump to go out, very little wireing, its a little simplier set up. personally i'd use either, but i'll go with alochol mainly because its what everyone else is doing, not to be a lemming, but if something works for this many people, why wouldn't it work for me?

EGT..if the car detonates, EGT's will spike up drastically. Alky keeps the motor from detonating and thus help control them. I have had runs upwards of 1700's and had zero detonation.

Before the throttle body seems to be the norm. After throttle body requires selenoid to prevent siphoning.
