Anyone know where to get a jug like the SMC's unit? The only thing I can find that will fit the area I have available is a JAZ Jr dragster fuel cell. A bit pricey...

Heres a radical idea someone gave me.. PVC.. its easy to obtain, variations are unlimited, and since its plastic..its alcohol compatible. Make your tank out of it, thread a fitting..done.

I havent subjected PVC to methanol for an extended period of time yet..or the adhesive to glue it..so the verdict is still in ...just thought I'd share an idea that someone gave me.

Pretty much if its stainless or plastic, alky will be ok.. this has been the consensus.

Thanks for the info Razor...
AAMOF we have PVC welding equipment at work. Only thing that would be hard to do is a screw down lid. I'd hate to have to unbolt a lid to fill it. Plus CPVC would be a better choice.
I'll look into the bottles. Just need to deside which one...

Make a tank, thread a tube into it, and put a cap on the end of that tube.

Welding equip for pvc..wow..what a concept.

A problem with PVC is that it work hardens and cracks with no warning. Constant vibration, UV and heat speeds this all up. We have at least 2 of those under the hood.
Welding PVC is pretty easy really. Kinda like TIG but your using hi temp air and filler rod. Dwell to long and it burns, not long enuff and no penetration. I wouldn't butt glue anything in PVC.
But Hmmmm....what about a piece of 6" CPVC pipe with a cap and threaded plug...
I think a Polypro tank may be a better choice here.
Just have to pick one outta that website....

Well I bought a new overflow bottle and was going to use it for the alcy but now need an idea on what to do for an overflow. Man that came out sounding goofy.

Russ, that one's easy.. just get an overflow fom discount for 7 bucks. You dont need a lot of capacity. Last GN I did I got one from a toyota at the pull-a-part..nice and small. There have been zero heating issues using the small overflow.

If you're looking for polyethylene jugs, McMaster-Carr has a selection. I didn't check out the Nalgene site, but I know McMaster-Carr takes credit cards. Hope this helps.

Thanks Greg, I never thought of McMaster.(I'd love to just walk threw their warehouse)
I "found" some 6x8 4 liter jugs we use at work with a 2.5" screw on lid. Very heavy duty. Should work fine I think. I ordered the pump yesterday so I'm on my way.

I'll never finish this car!
