This might have been asked many a time, but here goes....
When I race my car I usually use camII 110,properly tuned and runs fine, what do I see for advantages to go with alky inj. and pump gas other than the fuel cost savings and O2 sensor savings? Will I see faster times when properly tuned with alky because of the cooler charge, more boost, etc.?
Also,to mention, this car usually sees no more than 200 miles a year.

with only 200 miles a year i would run C16 all the time.

Needless to say that it has been covered already.

Alky can allow you to run significantly more boost on pump gas than w/o it..... but IMHO.... it is no substitute. Alky only has an octane around 100. It does have a tremendous cooling effect.... that lets you get away with more boost than equivalent octane race gas... i.e. 100 octane unleaded....

You really want to fly.... with your mileage you drive...or lack-there-of... I would run both...... just my 0.02.

HTH

racegas and alky you can be off on the tune up a little  200 miles a year ???? we did more than that this weekend after racing friday night :p

alky vs race gas

Race gas motors blow up as well as pump gas motors. Spend the time on the tuneup and start at lower boost levels. Figure that out and move up in increments. Alky used to suppress detonation while cooling is very effective. However it is not a bandaid for a weak fuel system or bad tune up.A car that sits and only drives 200 miles a year should probably run race gas as that is all I would drive it for that fuel cost. If you want high boost and pump gas which is alot cheaper then you could start driving it more often. Keeps the system active. As with anything in the car that needs use or will just sit and rot away.

With only 200 miles a year, and only raced.. run race gas as a primary fuel. You can run alcohol injection on top of the race gas to bring temps down further..

If you only put 200 miles a year on your car, why not sell it to someone who might actually drive it ? :D

That said, I'd just leave the race gas in the tank. It should last you all year anyway.

The Alky will evaporate out of the tank before you get to drive it. :o

Well 200 miles a year= 800 1/4 miles passes.. I'd be happy with that :D
