Okay I have it down to two cars... a one owner White 87 Turbo T with light mods.. 91k original miles downpipe, kb ram air, afpr, fuel pump+hw,36#, thumbwheel chip, new powermaster,no cat and trans cooler.. very clean $7500

or..

A well known 87 Gn in the Dallas area.. original owner but has tons of upgrades.. motor, trans, has a cage in it and full cages.. but the body is not that great. for about $8000 or so.. car runs 11's..

Should I go with the Turbo T and stay clear of a tinker toy hot rod Gn?

Here are some pics of the White T

Derpends on what you want it for, but i think the most fun is starting with a clean slate and building something yourself and seeing where it goes. So i would pick the white T, plus it looks awesome. The GN is the way to go if you are looking at just a race car for the weekend, but its gonna be hard to not know any tuning on a TB and then jump right into an 11 sec car with out hurting anything when something does go wrong(assuming this will be your first TB)

If you dont buy the White T I will come down there a kick you in the but..................................

i once owned both and always liked the gn's but that is a sweet looking t-type, how bad is the gn? in this case i would take the turbo-t

That T-Type is frickin sweet, 7500 is a good price. Actually a nice looking car in white. The thing to consider is that the other TB's modded. It's probably led a hard life at the track. That other car looks more like a driver. You'll put more money into it modding wise, but you'll end up with an overall better ride.

The Gn interior is nice, but the whole dash plate is covered with gauges and it has a 6 point cage in it.. I could not even get in the car! the body had dents and some deep marks and ridge in the lower rear quarter.

Yes, the Gn has been beat up.. and I will mod the car, my way and with me doing the work.. its a nice looking car and a great price too boot.

Thanks guy's for the replies!... one other thing.. I seem to remember.. don't all the turbo cars when started.. the idle will raise for a moment then return to normal idle? Is this normal?

Definitely the white T. I know you don't want a GN especially with T-tops;) :) . That car has some good starting mods and the fuel system is ready for a turbo upgrade. Progressive alky system or race gas and some slicks and tuning you would have a 11 sec car anyway. Sounds nice, have fun with it.

Go for the T! You can always mod it yourself to get into the 11's. Better starting with a cleaner car and this one sure looks like it is.:)
