All this talk from Barrett-Jack$on had me wondering what official classification do Turbo Regals fall into now, classic? antique is what, 25 years?

Also, what does this milestone mean to the TR community? Let's hear it...

I *think* terms like "antique" and "classic" are arbitrary....

BTW, the last GN rolled off the assembly line on 12/11/87, so "technically", we won't all be 20 years old for another almost 11 months...

In Wisconsin a vehicle that is 20 years or older is considered a collector vehicle. So I'm putting collector plates on my T-Type. Never have to register again.

In Dallas/Ft Worth area, 2-24 years old is smog tested.

Newer or older than that, safety inspection only

Dual plate daily drivers here in CT. :p

I keep looking around for any 70's and even 80's cars left on the road, occasionally I see a monte on a nice day and some old Oldsmobiles from the 80's.

Not much more, well maybe a few Mopar products in the "Valley" region, but I never did consider a K-car a real car anyway. :D

Taxes are low, smog ain't going away for at least 5 more years.

Mines not registered right now but I still had to pay the taxes on it when I registered my truck. A ****ping $9.00.
She will be out in March.

Why is w h o p p i n g bleeped out in my post??????

Maybe it offends the Italians???

In Michigan we pay 150.00/year tax on our cars until they turn 25 then that drops to 25 bucks a year. That is one reason when people ask "how much do you pay for insurance" and we MI people are much more....

There is a car gathering every 2nd Wed of the month in my town but I was told to take a hike because my car wasn't 20 years old. Phhhhhhhh.............

is california's law 25 years? Wonder if we still have to smog it after we turn 25 years old?
Unfortunately the law was changed couple years ago, and the rolling 30-yr-old exemption was revoked  . Our TR cars could be 100 yrs old and still have to pass smog tests. I think 1974 models were the last to have a smog exemption.

Sometimes I daydream of buying some 69 camaro or chevelle and installing a 500+ cube Gen5 big-block with a supercharger, or something. Anything goes on the older models ... then I realize there's no way I'd have time or garage space to fool with it.
