Alternative to for our cam sensor

I am still running the factory cam sensor (probably 1987 oem), with no issues on my xfi. I bought a spare awhile back since sometimes they can be hard to find. But I am thinking about the long term is their any alternative to this expensive sensor while using stock accessories?

Not that I know of. Not without getting complicated.

But I sure do wish someone would come up with an easy solution.
