I'm not a real big fan of drilling holes into the shelf of my trunk...are there any other ways to mount the propain without drilling? The main hose I can deal with but the overflow hose is kinda big.
I gotta say that I laid mine down on it's side next to the rear quarter and had no problems with it.
I admit I know very little about the propane tank and how it is set up so don't try this and blame me if you have problems.
One vendor said the OPD valve would close or something to that effect, but isn't that connected to the fill system? I don't see how it could interfere with vapor discharge.
I can lay a tank horizontally and run a BBQ grill with it, so why not?
Also as long as the tank is laying down with it's base toward the rear of the car shouldn't the liquid go to the bottom (or rear) of the tank on acceleration allowing the vapor to exist only at the outlet?
Isn't the tank set up so liquid cannot pass out of the outlet anyway?
Of course I could be wrong, and FOS as I often am....
Not wild about drilling either, but for the "blowoff tube" I drilled the knockout in the bottom of the spare tire well - easily replaceable, and purchased a longer length of tubing from the local hardware store.
