Is there any thing else I should replace at the same time when I replace the Alternator? Im a little rusty I havent workds on cars much in the last 15 years since my wife made me sell my hot rods. I just bought a 87 gn. Also should I be looking for something specal or just a stock Alternator.

thanks
Mike

Must be the 120 amp alternator. while out check the belt and the idler condition.

I replaced my stock 120amp with a New 140amp Pepboys unit. Fit is perfect, even comes with a nice aluminum pulley and a lifetime guarantee. I did replace the old school alternator fan with the new-style plastic one, Kirban sells that. Fully charge the battery & check the belt for cracks...

use Impala SS/vette 140 amp style as I have used of the LT1/LS1 engines. Same pully/housing fits, etc. May need to rotate rear housing though but its easy.
