Hi ya everyone! This is all new to me and I am glad to find TurboBuick.com and all its helpful info. I recently just purchased an 87 T and I have fell in love with it! I had the car out in Salem for the BPG event where it got its first run's by me. The best so far has been 13.4 at 103 on street tires at Salem. The performance side of the car has an alky kit, Hooker dual exhaust, Walbro 307 fuel pump, Caspers fuel pump hotwire kit, Adjustable fuel pressure regulator, AccuFab polished 65mm throttle body, 36 pph blue top injectors, Transmission cooler, Art Carr finned deep transmission pan, Ported turbo and intercooler and a K&N cone air filter. I want to get this car into the high to mid 11's. I know I will need better tires but else could I do to get there?

The car also has a new Jimmy’s 200-4R SS with a 2800 stall lockup TC. One thing I have noticed was the turbo lag off the start and how I was able to break the tires loose going into second gear. I have just purchased a new Art Carr #14930, 3000 stall, 9" non-lock converter and was wondering if this will solve the 2nd gear problem. Does anyone else see any problems with this converter? I can't find the model number on Art Carr's web site so I am assuming its one of their older designs. An input will surely be appreciated!

the more power you put to the ground the more chance of overpowering the rear tires.a higher stall will slap the tires harder on launch helping to plant the tires .the increased low speed coupling of the converter may be the problem.our 10 inch 300 lock up will help as well as you studying and adjusting the rear suspension.a converter with a higher stall will help.
