Anyone know if the mesh style (GNX-like) American Racing wheels are still available anywhere? Anyone have a picture or know where I could see these wheels? I saw a truck on my way home tonight that had them. Looked half decent, and kinda like the GNX style. Just wondering if anyone knows of them or has them.

87 - 92 Trans Ams have the honeycomb wheels you are looking for. You can pick them up used on Ebay or look around on the internet for used wheels. If possable, you want four fronts, but almost nobody sells them that way.
If you want to spruce them up, there are plenty of wheel restoration places around.
I have these on my car and they look nice. Much better and lighter than the stock GN wheels.

Exactly how much do the GNX / GTA wheels weigh?

I know the GN wheels are said to be 25 to 29 lbs. Not sure which is more accurate. I've never weighed mine.

It was either those or T-type vector wheels. In which case I could stick with 15" inch tires.

Wouldnt mind having such for winter wheels. Then throw a set of Telstars on in the summer.

Hey Jack... Where did you get the clear turn-signal (bumper) lights???

I think they're off a 84 Regal. If you're interested, I might be able to find the part no.

Matt,
I did not realize it was you. You have seen my wheels !!!
Anyway, I think I read somewhere they are around 9-12 pounds. If you are serious, I found a guy in Allentown, PA (35 minutes north of me) that sells restored wheels. He has a web site, and prices. They are not cheap, especially his wheels. I think I recall about 150 per wheel, but he claimed his where completly restored and repainted.
If you want the web site let me know, I think I have it bookmarked at work.

Check out the '81-'83 Regals for the clear lenses. I pulled mine and installed the orange because they stand out better from the chrome bumper, but I have always liked the way the clear fits in with the overall look of a black bumper.

Hook us up with some more info on your wheels. Which Enkei's are they? The closest looking ones I've found are the Enkei RP0M, and the RPM2, are they either of them? And am I correct in guessing that they weren't black when you purchased them but you had them painted?

More info please.

If your addressing my response to the thread, they did come with the black honeycomb. I sent them out to an aluminum wheel restoration shop in my area (Philadelphia). They CNC'd the wheels and repainted the centers. Came out beautiful. Like new. But not cheap. I would NOT get them clear coated if I had to do it over.

I will repost the shop I found in Allentown, PA on Monday. This guy is a re-seller of almost any wheel you can dream up. His web site has prices , etc...I have it bookmarked on my PC at work and was unable to find it again just now from home.

Again - you can also find them almost any day of the week on Ebay, but you have to look under Trans Am Wheels.
