I just heard a commercial this morning for Amoco gasoline. The lady said if you have a problem with your car because of octane or the quality of their fuel then bring your reciept and mechanics bill. Then they will determine if their fuel is to blame and pay for it.

BS! Who wants to be the first to blow a headgasket and blame it on their 93 octane not being quite 93? :D

James

I'm sure you will notice that the gas is crappy way before the headgasket blows....

I wonder if Amoco would pay for my grocery bill, since I now can't afford groceries AND pay for the gas I need so I can get to work...

Back in 1985, I filled up my Turismo one day. My car died and wouldn't restart. Quickly determined that I had in fact filled up with water instead from the pump. How that happened is beyond me; kinda hard to confuse a gas pump for a water spichet. I went back to the station with my receipt to complain. Several letters and phone calls later, they told me to shove it. So I ponied up $250 that I didn't really have for a new electronic carburetor. I'll believe their claim of responsibility when I see it.

This past winter a popular station in town had a problem with watered gas and quite a few people had filled up with the it. Some cars were only a block away and died. Surprisingly they were pretty good at fixing the cars of the customers that went back to complain. It was a big story in the local rag. At any rate they survived the bad publicity.

My friend got bad gasoline one time (sediment plugged the fuel filter very quickly). The gasoline company took care of the problem quite well, IMO.

I bet 99% of the bad gasoline claims are some other problem. It's too easy to blame the fuel.

Amoco is higher quality than most. :)

I filled up my new Harley last week with what was supposed to be premium. Turned out to be deisel fuel instead. They took care of it with no problem.

Now why couldn't I fill up with regular & it be race fuel :D
What a bargian that would be.

Amoco the only amoco in my parts is the tranny ones!

Have not seen an Amoco gas dealer in 2 decades in these parts!

that happined to my parents back in the 80s when my mom had her sunbird. they passed a station that was being torn down so they had a "free gas" sign out front and they were letting people pump the tanks dry. in 1 day water got 19 diffrent cars all stalled with in a block. my parents had to wait for 1 tow truck driver to pull off 6 cars before they could move theres, atleast the company payed for all of the towing bills and the cost of repairs.
