Animated avatars?

I tried to change to an animated avatar but it says I cannot upload animated images...but I see other members have animated avatars.

So whats the secret?:biggrin:

I think my secret is that I uploaded mine years ago before the restriction was put in place. I don't understand the purpose of the restriction, however, as long as the file size is within the limits, why should it matter?
