Will Mickey Thompson ET drag tires fit best on a 7" or an 8" American Racing Torque Thrust II wheel with 3.5" back space? The tires are 28" x 9" slicks with a 8.6" tread and 10.8" section width. Will there be any clearance problems? Thanks.

Why yes it is , It (28x9 slick)will be closer to the wheel lip than the frame ,and each car is a little diff ,but it worked great on the car I used it on , no probem
I run 28x10.5 on my car 15x8 wheel 4.0 bs

A 28x9 M/T slick will work on a t-type rim , If I remeber a "t"rim puts it closed to the frame and more clearance on the wheel lip, still worked though

I run that 28x9 MT slick on stock T rims and on a stock suspension with air bags, it does rub slightly on the frame when I'm at the track. Not enough to worry about, but enough to leave marks on the frame. I think it just does it when I turn a corner.

I have been running 26x10.5 et streets on both t-type rims and my 87 GN wheels plenty of clearance on both sides. I tried 28 x 10.5 on the T-rims because they were given to me but hit the frame hard. The 26's fit the same as my radials 245/60/15. just my .02 cents.

tim-are you using aluminum brake drums in the rear? if not it might be just enough to keep them slicks off the frame.

With a 3.5 inch backspace wheel they should fit with no problem. I had a 26 X 10 icnh slick on a stock T rim and the barely hit the frame. I have a friend running 26 X 10 inch slicks on Weld wheels with a 3.5 inch backspace and he has plenty of clearance.

No, the T does not have those but my GN does. I will be hopefully using the slicks on it next year if I get some LCAs on it and I will find out if that helps. Matt, sending you an email on that T wheel idea.
