jwillettgn,

Is lake Norman damned up? Id guess it would have to be with stripers in it. catabwa river?.
So they turn on the water and the bite is on eh? which means that 20#r with 10 mph water turns into 38#s of fight...woohoooo

On Wilson dam in Alabama they'd crank the turbines up and man it was like hitting a light switch, we had top water rigs set up and ready to go, zara's
my buddy down there talked so much about them stripers, and i invited him up to Mich for King Salmon run so following fall he flew up and had the time of his life...just pure muscle with a tail.
During the run their not hungy so they either hit to clear the area or you line them by drift.

Anyway that trip he went 4 for 15 with a nice hen at 17#s

Yes Lake Norman is the Catawba river dammed up but not too much current even when the turbines are running. It will bring on the bite when they turn them on though. Norman is hard to fish because of all the boat traffic these days. I catch most of my big fish at Lake Norris, Tn. at night.

I love to fish. I also have the speed bug on the water also, thats why I own an Allison XB 2003 W/ 260 Merc. on it. 97 MPH, I never have to worry about someone beating me to my fishing spot.

We'd be close for sure, One buddy I tournament fish w/ has 21' Skeeter w/ 300hp Yamaha, GPS'd at 96 mph, another has late two late 80s Allisons w/ Merc 2.6 (old style Race team) motors, one does 97 one does 94 radar confirmed. Its big fun and scarry as crap.

Went to the lake yeasterday, 49 degree water, over head sun and 65 degree air.....lookin for large mouth. Caught 14 on zoom curly tail "watermelon green" on "spot remover pro" jig heads, and one on #3 "sexy shad" strike king crank bait. All but one in 2' or less.

Bassssss

Alan and I love bass fishing too! We usually get to fish when we are out working a storm somewhere and get a day off. The best is Minnesota!!
