I Just Got A Pair Of Uppers And I've Had The Lift Bars But Havent put Them On Yet, Does Any Know If They Work And How Good, I Will Be Putting Them On Soon Along With The Air Bags, What Air Pre Do I Start With??
Thanks For Any Help,
Seneca Lafler,

I have them. If you got them put them on, it has to be better than the factory open channels. My friend Tom trips the 60 ft. with SSM upper and lower with his rear tires:eek: I put 5 PSI in my drivers side and 25 PSI in the passenger.

The following has happened/been done to a few of our local cars...

Regarding the SSM lower control arms:
We've had a couple cars where the forward mounting holes have become ovalized. I guess this is from the force of launching the car at the track and that the forward mount is not very thick metal. I think there may be a company out there that makes weld in reinforcements for this, but we've made our own with large washers.

We've also welde the rear drop down brackets to the axle mount. Without doing this, I was having some movement in the rear end.

P.S. I also broke the drivers side, forward mounting bolt. This happend on the street and made for quite a spooky experience - I almost couldn't control the car.

-Banning.

P.S. I've been able to get some pretty decent '60 times with them and the stock upper control arms - 1.54 with a 5# launch.

-Banning.

SSM??

Have removed 3 sets.. All them had the frame and axle bolt holes torn up and the insides of the brkts worn thin.
Also, if you weld them on the axle, you cannot adjust the pinion angle.. It has to be set prior to welding and is permanent.. Til the holes in the frame wear out, that is..

The one's I've replaced had some cheezy little plastic "wear washer" to help stop the brkts from wearing out.. I found about 50% of them gone.
The bushing inner core tube is the only contact on the insides of the brackets.. it does the damage...

There are too many nice pieces out there to spend your money on that stuff....;) ;)

I put a set of SSM lowers on my GN and took them
off shortly thereafter. The car felt real 'loose' on
the highway and did not 60-foot any better than
the stock (boxed) arms. I ended up giving them
away. They're a waste of money.

Well I've gotten 1.46 60's on them. I do check them to make sure the bolts are always tight. Paul Ferry makes a reinforcement kit for them that I will look into getting for the forward mounts.
Maybe he can comment on this.
