Has anyone made any leaps and bounds lately considering the popularity of e85 and it's cooling properties?

Fastest one is 11.37 on pump gas and meth. Ed Brewer.

Unless you can find a faster one???

There was some "work" done to that turbo.
Sure. It had the polished bell mouth and they blended it to the inlet of the turbo. Also had a stock IC with a Dutt neck. Heads and cam where stock. Great weather.. a car in top notch attention.. and hundreds of passes..

Timing was 28 degree's first gear :D. Boost was up there as well. 1.50 60ft on a stage rite brake.

Ya, I tried chasing him down with a stock turbo and at 30psi couldnt do it. I didnt even go to the track because I could feel how slow it was compared to the TA49. I didnt think machining the housing was going to gain me 75hp or more. He changed spark plugs every round!

The stock turbo has been in the 11 teens back when there were no other upgrades.
A few years ago we dug around for this info and the fastest we could find was 11.6. This 11.6 number is what prompted him to go for the number. Ed then put up the 11.37 and 11.44. The 11.37 was at 116.5 mph. He did run some 11.6-11.8's at BG the previous year with the stock turbo.

The only other car found to be in that range was the Galina TTA running in stock eliminator NHRA. But that was a gutted car.

Would love to see info on any faster car.. I have seen quite a few high 11 cars. Maybe using nitrous or really reducing weight?

I figure if you started with a bench lightweight, a brake, a good converter, e85 and alky, along with open dump and a thdp and the typical mods, it could be done. If I had a stock turbo still around and a chip I would try it since I have everything else. I have a fairly light car aside from the power windows.

A buddy of mine has a very low mileage, low option 86 T (bench seat, manual windows, column shift, etc) and has gone 11.6's foot braking it and he only runs 22-23psi of boost. The performance isn't really freakish, we think it's b/c the car is so stripped down from the factory it doesn't weigh anything.

Bring down whatever turbo you have bolted on that thing and trade me. I'll put that on the GN and put the 44 on skidmarx. Oh bring a converter too LOL sounds like a fair trade.

Ever notice how we hijack every damn thread anymore? Oh wait you started this one screw everyone else.

Never heard that particular Ini Kamoze...

Damn talk about off topic. So how's the weather? How's Jenn? How's that damn raspy cat?

Oh and your car does run "the good". And i'd be lying if I said that bottle of capn morgan will still be here when you get here.

We shouldgo in on another bottle. Im beginning to lose my girlishfigurewith all this beer. I think we should use the flying nut roll for a stock turbo build. What uthink? Only problem is its kinda fat assed with all those options and we tend to do things half to 3/4 assed.

I haven't got the budget or the time or the ambition to try to make my car "best of" anything. It'll be stock turbo for a long, long time though, for all 3 of the reasons listed above.

And she's not THAT fat, hell she's a solid roof with al bumper supports and t wheels, that's light years ahead of the gn.

Captain morgan is a butthole, he made me sick last night and I think he did it on purpose.
