It actually had 6,200 miles, and it was an astro roof car.

Here's a list of the other Turbo Buicks that will go across the block at Palm Beach this year.

----------------------------------------------

1. 1986 BUICK REGAL T-TYPE COUPE (WH-1) - Lot 347

2. 1987 BUICK REGAL GRAND NATIONAL SEDAN (7,400 mi) - Lot 343

3. 1987 BUICK WE4 2 DOOR HARDTOP - Lot 740

More info about these can be found on the Barrett Jackson site.

Nice to see that 1987 Astroroof on the stage, and I thought that was a good price for it, too.

I didn't agree with the announcer's "one of the few collectible American cars from the 80s comment though"...

I think that category should include the IROC-Z, the GTA, the Turbo TA, the Corvette ZR1, the Grand Prix Aero Coupe, the Olds 442, the Monte Carlo SS, along with the SVO Mustang.

All (maybe except for the Vette) can be bought for reasonable money, and I think all will increase in value in the future.

Anybody have any others to add to the above list?

it sounds like you know your 80's muscle cars ..............:D
those cars that you mentioned are some of the first that come to mind to me .......;)

Damn, I was really looking forward to seeing the WE4 on the television broadcast. The final car they showed during the Palm Beach coverage was lot 730.

The WE4 is lot 740...Bummer. :frown:

You are right about that! I bought an 86 irocz the day I married my wife in 1989, while I was stationed in Ft carson Co. She always hated it.(fast forward three kids and 18 years later) The funny thing is, I was in the market for another one when this lil ole broke down v6 rolled into my shop with a for sale sign in it. I wasn't looking for a GN, but damn, I'm glad I finally got with the program!!!!!! Oh bye the way, we will have another iroc z- electric blue w/ t-tops, Erin(my lovely wife)
