Dam last time I went to a BSOX game was in the 80's on opening day.
Too Frigging Expen$ive... A family can't even have a fun day at the park without braking the piggy bank.

Tell me about it.
My wife surprised me last spring with 4 luxury box tickets that she "won" on an auction. Told me they were $150 each which I wasn't thrilled about but figured I had never been to Fenway Park and it WAS a game against the Yankees.
We were in the suites above 1st base line and had all sorts of free food and drinks, AC in the suite or you could sit in the private seats attached. They even brought in the World Series trophies and rings to look at. Well, figured not a bad deal after all and was commenting to someone else in the suite how good a deal it was at $150 a ticket. He said, what are you talking about??????? These tickets go for $350 EACH!!! Needless to say things were not too good between the wife and I from the 6th inning on.
Crazy ticket prices have to be like that I guess to pay these outrageous salaries the players are getting. Sheesh, have the time they are standing around scratching their balls.

And..
in addition to:

They have to "adjust" thier gloves after every pitch, spit every 30 secs, spit nut hulls all over the dugout, forget to shave for a week.....
The pitchers have to adjust thier caps after every pitch.
All those delays may be included in the "entertainment", so the fans see a 3 hr game, and think "Gee, $150/3= only $50/hr."
