What was wrong with where it sat? And I asked this, since, if theres a sensor for water temp, and the scanmaster can read that, why not oil pressure. theres a light on the dash, that goes on if the pressure is too low right? So why cant a scanmaster translate that? I'm just dreaming thats all. So how accurate was this jbenn. did you compare it to an actual guage?

Because oil pressure is not sent to the ECM, which is where ALDL data comes from.

Also, I believe that since the gauge is for an idiot light it's either on or off. The power logger would need an analog sensor that "sweeps" the voltage with a change in pressure.

It was kinda long and it stuck out alot further than a sending unit for my gauge did. That being said, it measured pretty close to what the AM gauge did. It was a bit more detailed and "faster" if you will, so perhaps it was more accurate...dunno.. Logging Oil wasnt a big deal for me, easier to just look at the gauge when I come to a stop or whatever

I know this is sorta off-topic, but I have the factory oil guage that came with my Monte Carlo SS in the dash, how can I get it to work? Can I use that sender listed here and just hook it up? The wiring for the idiot light is ran and it does go all the way up when the car is running, but thats hardly accurate enough..
