Quick description.
Had a metal all in 1 bulkead/steps unit removed 7 years ago due to it rotted being against the earth so many years since 1965.
New guy dug out a box like area, put in footings and 3 cinder block walls.
During heavy rain season the floor/pit would fill up with water. I tried that paint on dry lock. did not work, I tried heavy plastic allong outside walls did not work.
So I added a 1.5' cement threshold making it a 3" pit to buy me time to pump it out with a flow tech portible pump. Me PLAYING water boy gets OLD fast!
When the pit overfills it overflows into cellar.
Can a sump pump work being in a cold unheated bulkhead pit? I would also rather pump the water into the house sewer via a hose. My worry about pumping outside is pipe or hose freezing up with no place for the sump pump to push it.
Anyone up north with this issue?
