Any way to check knock sensor?

Just wondering if there are any easy ways to check and make sure knock sensor is working. Never seen any knock on the scan master even when my vac line came off and boost shot way up so it has me concerned that its not working. I did make sure it was torqued to 14 lbs. thanks

tap near the knock sensor with a extension or something. Should set it off but I don't know if SM reads knock counts.

I tried that and it didn't work for me, although when I messed with my tune some the SM started showing KR and told me it was working.

I could be wrong, but I though reading somewhere to check the knock sensor rev the engine to 2000 rpm and then tap near the knock sensor

Most likely didn't work because the sm only reads knock retard, not knock counts. If you know someone with a scan tool or a winaldl plug, you can see everything. winaldl works well for what it is. For people that have yet to invest in a powerlogger, it's a good tool to use.

THis sounds familiar, you may have to do this.

I installed a caspers knock detector over the winter and I finally set it off by tapping rapidly 3-4 times, key on not running, not sure it will register on the scanmaster...Mike
