Used an engine hoist, saw horses and 2x4's ... on a couple tubs here:

turbonut85 has a great thread (in the above) and you will find a couple other good threads about removing the body if I remember correctly. I don't recall the exact search words 'tho.

In front the picker chain went thru the AC box opening and around the dash support I think. In back we used the trunk latch loop. Make sure steering, lines, & all the bushing bolts are out!

It needs to be high enough to clear the frame & wheels. We had 4-14" wheels/tires on the sport coupe tub to try to lessen clearance. (Maybe donuts would be short too?)

Nice build!! Mine is in the body shop now getting new floors. Paint is supposed to be happening after but I don't really want such a pretty body with a nasty underside. Trying to figure out the best way to tacle this. Almost thinking about getting the car painted and buying another frame and putting it all together and slipping it under. I don't have the space or will power to keep the car held up for that long..

Did you ever have the body bolts out? If not try loosening them before anything. Thats the worst part because if the are rusted in you might want to leave them alone. Taking the body off is no easy task. I have a lift so it was easy for me for the most part. The main problem will be getting the bolts out if they are rusted in to inserts in body or if they are rotted your screwed. thats alot of work if they are.I had aparts car that I lifted the body off of and only took out the first four bolts from the front of the car but the rear bolts stayed on the frame when the body was lifted off:eek: The biggest problem is were do you stopits going to get expensive thats all I can tell you.good luck

There is a pretty good description with lots of pictures in the archives. I remember reading it about a year ago.
