Anybody else running a gt 42 yet ? Im convinced it will be the next " thing" in big turbos.

Also looking for info on this turbo...what stall speed with a 274"? What wheel are you running a 76? Ever heard of a PTE47/80?

I have a 258" motor with a 4400 stall. Holy christ does this thing make power at low boost. It made 530 @ 15 psi on a mustang dyno . It went 106 mph in the 1/8 mile @ 15 psi . I raced a Head and cam c6 @ 10 psi and put 3 cars on him at a 45 roll. Its very streetable but should make the power that i want. Its the 76 MM gt42 non bb from Jack Cotton. 1.01 hot side. Only bitch was finding the 5- 4 inch reducer coupler. I ordered one 2 months ago and it still isnt here !! Good thing a good buddy had one that he wasnt using.

Now see Brian, you could have used that 1.20? a\r....... I have 2 more here, one I brought to the track last weekend and spoolup was awsome, not to mention the power........ By the way, give me a call at the shop when you see this, asap.
thanks

Jack you have any experience with the ball bearing version? So they have housings now for the Buick headers?

Thanks,

260 CI, Stock ported intake. GN1 Rs with 1200 ports. 224 Hyd with V2. ATI conv. 4000 stall i believe. GT42-76,1.01 exhaust housing. Self made 4in to 3.5in DP.

I just went 109.25 at 16 PSI 1/8 mi. 9.89 @133.4

Turbo spooled amazingly fast. I was worried about the exhaust housing side but that would not matter.

As far as reducers you can use a plumbing reducer coupler or a 5-4 in hump reducer from a truck suplier.

Thanks,

yes, we've used them on a few cars, spool-up and performance has been excellent. Like Louie said, great numbers!!!

We have 4 customers running the GT42's in all the different trims. One is a mild street car and he is running the GT42-70. One is running the GT42-76 and the others are running the GT42-78HO. We are working with another customer now that is wanting to try the GT42-80. Should be a killer unit with a Stage engine and transbrake. The T4 1.01 seems to work good with a nice flowing setup. If you are wanting to get stupid, then the T6 1.15 is the next best thing.

Louie ,

We have close to the same combo, cam and everything. I went 106 mph in the 1/8 mile on 15 psi ,shifting at 5500 .

We have done ok with twin GT42/74Rs.
We expect 180MPH Plus when all the bugs are worked out.

Twin GT42's would definitely fun...hehe. John we are working on new wheels for the 74's as well. They are high boost units.

Do you have to mod the headers for these turbos?

Thanks,
They are 4 bolt turbos. So a aftermarket 4bolt unit should work. Unfortunately, unless TA perf or Arizona GN make 4 bolt units there is nothing readily available. I did convert my own 3 bolt ATRs to 4 bolt.
