Thanks Cal and Ted,

Cal said GT42 and Ted Said 42/76... what is the difference? I was thinking a 4276 was a GT42 with 76mm wheel, 4202 was 74mm wheel etc etc... Cal you are running the ball bearing version? I was thinking of the journal bearing version. Are the turbos the same except for that fact (same wheels)?

Cal it was good to see you in Oklahoma a few years ago tuning on Callahan's car? You know it's a fun race and we like to see new racers every year. Especially guys that can bump the field.

John

A true GT-42 is a 74MM compressor wheel. I think it was pointed out on another thread somewhere that the 76 is good for + 100 HP rating. PTE puts in the 76 MM wheel themselves if I am not mistaking. I am very surprized at how quick this turbo comes up on boost and the kind of power it has made at 24psi- enough for 9.16 pass, so like I said before, I think this turbo can be named a 9.0 turbo. Cal is the man and his phone ## is in my sig and I thank him for talking me into this bad boy turbo, which cost me less than my 71GTQ, so if you are on any kind of budget, like I was building this car, the non BB version is a CHEAP part for what it gives you.

The GT42-76 will outspool the 74mm version we did this test already. Due to the stub shaft design and 74 internals are quite heavy. Also you can build a lightweight 42/76 ;)
