Your babies are awesome.
And you are right about your friend. I thank the dog
is the only thing my wife and I would fight over in a divorce. Custody battle.

Ive also wanted to look into getting a german shepard eventually but i ahve aa few questions. My mother had one back in the early 80's and she said there very smart but tend to suffer hip diysplasia(spelling?) and somewhat of a short life span?

Do a lot of homework on the different breeders and ask questions. A good breeder will OFA (hip x-ray) their dogs at 2 years old to see if they are or are not fit for breeding. If the dogs are "clean" than their pups are much less likely to ever get hip displasia but it's still not a 100% guarantee.
Every pure bred dog has some quirk that you have to look out for.

Life span wise you can expect 10+ years. The bigger the dog the shorter the life span but the quality of life has a lot to do with that also. My last shepherd before these guys lived 13 years.

Looking locally but may have to expand my horizons the way it looks:cool:

Good advise above.
Don't get in a hurry it is to important of a commitment.
Do your research and find a quality breeder and you will be fine.
I'm a believer in getting pups young.

Good Luck
