Since i lost my instructions I`m wondering do i have this set right? There are 2 dots, one is located on the keyway and the other is lined up with the cam....I just want to verify before putting the cover back on...Thanks

Looks like you are at 0 degree adv/retard or straight up. I would look at that crank key it looks a little short and I have seen these shear off before. How much valve spring open pressure and what is max rpm u intend to run?

Yes you have it set up correctly. I was asking this same question recently when I installed my TA performance timing chain. Make sure you at least soak the chain and gears in oil before installing them or use assembly lube. Do yourself a favor and pull the oil pan off and clean it out. Even after draining the oil I still found coolant on top of the baffle in the pan along with gasket material from cleaning up the front of the block. You won't be able to get the front cover to seal without lowering the pan a little anyway.

And if you're running a GM cover there's an odd boss of alum on the cam sensor bore area. To clear a rollmaster you have to cut it off or file it down to clear.

Is it advisable to adv 2 degrees for timing chain slack after break in ? Not hyjacking this thread but while we was on the subject I thought it would be a good time to ask this .
