A couple years ago we bought a 87 T. I never knew the history of the engine. It ran well and went 12.1 at 117 with a turbonetics 60-1 stage 5 (like a PT54) with 21-22 psi. We fixed an exahaust leak and didn't turn the boost down enough to compensate and promptly blew a headgasket at the 1/8th but coasted to an 11.7 at 103. It was a nice sounding cam that pulled well up to 5800. We found out it was a 218/218 after pulling the motor. It had some nice ported irons as well with bigger valves. Overall it had great driveability and made 13-14" vacuum at idle so the vacuum brakes worked well. We did go roller with the new engine (215/220) Im sure quite a few have been mid 10s or even faster on the 218/218.
