Can someone give me any feedback on this place? It looks like it's right on Lake Erie and seems like a decent place.

It's about the 1/2 way point between Boston and Chicago. I sold my LS1 and I am planning out the trip for Tommorrow. My buddy is gonna meet me half way.

I just want to make sure it's not a Ghetto. I stayed in Buffalo once and that was a mistake, nothing happened but what a ****hole.

Can you recommend a hotel near I90 thats decent and near some resturants?

Thanks!

u tihnk buffalo is a ****hole, wait till u get to erie

and buffalo is not a ****hole btw.

Of course ur in Boston, so i can see the hostility towards NYers

*cough* red sox *cough*

:D

I work for Penn State and we have a campus there. Been there many times. Its basically a depressed town. Its okay but I would NEVER live there. The winters are HORRIBLE and the sun hardly shines there. Its just like Buffalo. There are nice and not so nice areas.. I believe that they have over 150" of snow a year.

Ok I need to find a 1/2 way point to meet. Can you recommend something more towards the NY side? Can be about 50 miles east of Erie or so.

Thanks!

P.S. YANKEES SUCK!

It's not that bad.I bought my car there. There is one /ell of a nice rosewood T in Girard. If you stay there stay on Peach St..THANK YOU

erie is just like everyother city in that it has its good parts and bad parts. I think i would be pretty cool living near the beach in the summer. The only knock on erie is that its way too close to cleveland, what a dump. Why not just come a little south to pittsburgh!!

Sure a half way point would be to take a right onto 87 South. When you see the house that Ruth Built and Home of the Most Winning Team In baseball , stop in and say Hello To George and Joe T and see the way baseball is supposed to be played . On the way home make a right 2 lefts 13 U turns and 2 neutral reverse drops, and you'll be back in Boston.

that disgusts me that you would even mention the house that ruth built and george in the same sentence. the way baseball is supposed to be played??? i guess that means buying your team. the yankees are everything that is wrong with baseball. I hope the Sox clean them up this weekend.

P.S. one name for you. BILL MAZEROSKI.

Erie, PA

Stay at the Peach Street Exit. There's lots of fairly nice, albeit expensive, hotels there. If you go North on Peach Street, the Mall is on the left a mile or so up. Make sure you eat at the Quaker Steak and Lube about 75 to 100 yards north of I90 on Peach. Great car lovers wing type place. Its an old garage that was turned into a restaurant. All kinds of Car memorabilia in there and even a few cars. There was a vette on a lift and one on the wall when I was last there. Stay north of I90 on Peach as there's little or nothing to the south. Although, my wife's parents live about 2 miles south and would probably take issue with that statement. There's a Bob Evans just to the south of I-90 and a huge fairly new indoor water park and sports park with indoor golf range.

BTW, I'd damn sure hate to be buying gas in Erie right now. Its got to be about $1.70 a gallon for 87 Octane. They were always about 20 or more cents higher than here in GA.

Ok George has his share of problems but if the Yankees are everything wrong with baseball they must still be doing something right they have the most World Series wins of any team in baseball . Now the Mets on the other hand :(

You know, you would think that after the CBA was anounced these lame Yankee buying the team excuses would stop. Tha Yankees are doing NOTHING wrong, if they want to spend 300 million they can, they pay the luxury tax, its not theyre fault the other owners could care less ablut winning and not putting that money into theyre team.

I could be wrong, but isn't Erie PA where someone ordered a pizza, strapped a bomb around the delivery guy's neck, and then made him rob a bank? Then the cops caught him and didn't believe that someone put him up to it--until his head blew off 40 minutes later?

This is a true story from FoxNews.com. This is not in any way a commentary on the town--I have never been there so I can't comment.

Northwestern PA SUCKS! I grew up there and other than the food you aren't missing a thing! The lake affect snow stinks and if it isn't snowing it's raining! The most depressing place on earth as far as I'm concerned. If you pass through and see the Sun take a picture the locals would like to see it too:D
