Anyone Convert From hardtop to T-top?

has anyone ever done that? I got a buddy that wants to do that with a standard regal....

I would think it could be done if you have some experience.

I know a former friend who did that to his GN which had a rotted t-top. He replaced it with another T top unit.

Yeah, it can be done if you have a "donor" car...but most guys who've done this conversion did the other way around (getting rid of the t-tops to install a solid roof!).
It must be quite a job though...and also you'd be taking chances of getting water leaks in the car (even some cars with factory installed t-tops leak!)...but it's your car and your decision...Good luck.

the t top cars had a lot of extra bracing all over the body and probably had a different 'A' pillar setup to add strength around the windshield.
the only way i'd even attempt it would be if i had a donor car right there the whole time.
