What did your crate motor cost you? you'll be the first that I know of that went with a jaspers crate motor. please keep all of us informed on how this motor runs along with how many miles you put on it with the amount of boost also. this will give us all some kind of indication on what kinda abuse they will take... scot w.

I believe it was $2200 or around there. We only have probably a few thousand miles on it now and it is a stock setup in the car just an ATR chip. As of now the car doesnt seem to make as much power as it did before but We are guessing thats just because its still breaking in. The motor it replaced had 40k miles on it and it developed a crack in the block so it had to go. Jaspers was the only place we knew of at the time that sold a complete long block.

Did you check to see if it still had a turbo crank in it- i ve heard of people getting their turbo motors back from them with a non-turbo crank/

I had Jaspers rebuild my original 85 block with no problems at all. I blew the engine up after 10000 miles due to my own stupidity. I got another block from them and is runs fine after 10000 miles on. My experience has been all positive.

I am having my heads and intake ported by a machinist and he asked the same question about the non-turbo crank. How can you tell if the engine has a non-turbo crank? I do know that Jaspers sell both Turbo and non-turbo blocks. Thanks-Brad

See I didnt send my old motor off to them since my block was cracked. I just ordered a crate engine from them. So far we have a few thousand miles on it and no problems yet.

Brad,
You will need to drop the oil pan and look for the ground fillets on the crank journals. There are a few that have done very well with the NA cranks ...... Again, always some GOOD, BAD, and UGLY.
