Pat,

Go see Mike Patton at S&W in Jasper.. Tell him Warren (his son's friend) sent you..

They have a good selection and he'll do you right..

Goodluck..

I have a slightly modded Banshee, 83hp at the flywheel on gasoline and 90 on methanol. It runs ok..... I am undefeated, I hope to bring it to BG, anyone who wants a shot at the title can meet me in the field at the end of the track!
Actually I hope to have it running again by then, it broke a rod during the first snow fall and gutted the cases. The rod broke at about 9000 rpm and never stalled the engine, rode about 3 miles back to the shop on one cyl and no trans oil! It vibrated pretty bad but still had a good bit of punch to it!

The LT500 is a little more than a 2 stroke tractor...

What kind of times do you turn 1/4 mile on your light switch;), I mean Banshee?

I never raced it but it will run 105 mph in an 1/8 mile with a handheld GPS. It would probably run out of wind in the 1/4 but should still be LOW LOW 12's

a little advice from a racer/rider. im a 4 wheeler fanatic, and had a 97 banshee, an ds650X, and a 86 250r that was modded big time. all 3 were about the best thing you could get in their class. i traded off with my buddies alot at the track and on the trail. they had, 400ex, raptor, 450 yamaha, 400 kawi, and polaris predator. now all these are good machines, but ill rank them anyway
1. ds650x unbelieveable power, unreal suspersion. little bigger than all the others, but buttery smooth all day long, excellent build quality
2 banshee, dont let anyone tell you its unreliable, fast, very comfortable, ride it year round, no changes at all
3 250r, dont really need to explain this
4 polaris predator, suspension is the best, cheap, 500 4stroke
4 400 kawi, very cheap, on same scale as polaris. snappier though
5 450 yamaha, i absolutly love this bike, but its spendy, and the stock shocks are complete garbage. tourqe up the a**
6 raptor, fast, comfortable, cheaply built though. excellent used buy, they are dirt cheap
7 400ex, slow, boring. dont get one

honestly, i wouldnt put it on my list, dont think its better than a 250, just heavier

There is a lot that I agree with here.
It depends what your intended use is - on just what you get;
I have ridden a few different 250R's and several different four wheelers in general and the 250R is hands down the best racing quality four wheeler;
I ride a two-stroke bike, but if I were to buy a new four wheeler I would probably go four stroke;
The 400ex was rated the best for quite some time, but I think it is pig slow;
Magazine reports would say that it will be ahead in any kind of race the 400ex will be ahead after a few laps - with the exception of a straight drag race;
There are a few new four wheelers out now that have more power than the 400ex and as or better suspension.
The new Yamaha YFZ and the new Honda 450 are supposedly the big boys.
Suzuki and Kawasaki are the same - they are both owned by the same company and made in the same factory. (I forgot if Suz bought Kaw or the other way around; the only difference is the cosmetics - stickers and such.)

One more thing, there is a large initial cost of these things, but with basic maintenance they last a long time.
Soon enough you realize that for ten dollars (of fuel) you have an entire weekend of fun. You can't beat that!

WEAR A HELMET!!!

pat

Last on my list. Mine was in the dealership monthly.Then again I was only 13:D

the quadzilla was a great atv .........untill you started modding it .......then the reliabillty went in the garbage

The Quadzilla was neat when it came out however it is heavy and handles like crap, good power up to about 60mph. I ride with a guy who has one, it is referred to as "the rolling loveseat" due to the size of the seat.....
