i am thinking about selling my ta-49 turbo and going bigger, the turbo was bought new from precision just over a year ago and has about 1000 miles on it, 63 exhuast housing, polished compressor cover, turbo is in great condition and does not smoke at all. best i have run with this turbo is a 7.46@91 in humid air. i am going to try and get a TE-45A and try for some 7.0's

hmm, good question, i have seen several ta49's sell for 500+ with about the same mileage and age but without the polished compressor housing. i think 500 shipped is a good price as i paid over 800 new for it. this is without the actuator or stock elbow. let me know what your needs are and i can see what i can do, cause i have a actuator that i can sell with it if you need. thanks

I can vouch for the turbo and it's condition.

So your going with a bigger turbo, hmmmm. I too have been thinking about another turbo, but I will wait as I want to try a few more things before I make the change.

cody, its SOLD......sending you an email. thanks

Cody, I dont have access to my home email here at work so I figured I would ask here.

you said the only gasket I need is for the oil drain. what about where the header bolts to the turbo? no gasket there ?

thanks. im just trying to get any parts I will need here so I can do the install when the turbo arrives.

:)

if your car has never had a gasket between the header and the turbo, don't put one on it. Maybe some ultra copper.

car is completely stock....well, untill now.

so the header / turbo seal is the same as it was when it left the factory.

no gasket needed between the turbo and header, it's better not to use one anyway, just take a file and make sure the header is flat and clean it with some paint thinner and it's good.
