Anyone make braided tranny cooler lines?

Curious if anyone produces a set of braided tranny cooler lines? If not has anyone made them and what was the list of fittings needed?

While you might use AN for some flex points, I wouldn't suggest using them for the entire lenght if that's what your thinking.

The neopreme that I've seen used in that application, once started to come apart in tiny bits of carbon. While maybe high fluid temps were the real cause, the damage from these little almost microscopic chips cost a tranny overhaul.

I used braided steel lines on my tranny , they are teflon on the inside kind of like used on hydraulic systems. 1/4 inch pipe threads at the tranny , and I used a 1/4 pipe thread coupling and a compression coupling at the radiator.

DO NOT USE taper pipe thread on the transmission case !!!
POSSIBLE TO CRACK ALUMINUM CASE AND HAVE LEAKS!!!

GM uses NPS national pipe straight mechanical thread with sealant on their adapters, ie ,male pipe to female inverted flare,
The newer gm transmissions use 3/8" cooler lines instead of the smaller 5/16" lines size on the GN
THE part number for the larger line case adapter is GM 8651654 (2 required)

I run stainless braided lines with AN fittings on my tranny to the standalone cooler up front with a fan on it and no problems here...daily driven street car too
 
tranny lines

I'm with Bruce on this one. I've had it happen to me as he describes. I will be replacing the lines this winter with steel tubing. Maybe a street car will be ok, but with trans brakes and the heat thats generated I don't trust it. I'm going with regular tubing. Just my experence FWIW
 
i just redid my trans lines and used this "socketless" hose from Aeroquip. http://www.aeroquip.com/pages/prodinfo.html It actually has a slightly larger inside dia compared to stainless braided hose. Its easier to intall more flexible and has a smaller outside diameter than braided. Its also legal in the NHRA rule book now to use for fuel line as well.
