actually if you move your cursor over the "Profile" buttom at the bottom of any post you can see on the lower bar of internet explorer, or just click it and see in the address bar what the userid is. Try it and tell mewhat your is, it ain't 10,000 therefore you are member number 10,000.

maybe there have been people banned and user names deleted but i know that when i first came to this site it said 9,999 members so i completed the form very quickyl and became the 10,000 member according to the information on the top left corner on the home page

Not siding with anybody here, but 10,000 might be speaking the truth. If you'll look, the newest member as of today, October 18, 2003 at 7pm Eastern (11pm Central Europe), is number 10,969! According to the trick of waving the pointer over the profile. Since we broke the 10,000 mark just a week or so ago, it's very possible that he's the 10,000th member according the the member count at the top of the main page.
