Anyone notice that cars attract story tellers?

I love the "Oh yours only has a V-6, the GNX has a V-8 and dual turbos." and they have always seen one or know someone who has them. Some people believe they still are the fastest production car of all time....I just agree! With guys like that I always try to add to their story. "That twin turbo V8 turns 11s stock from the showroom floor."

I just hate to tell them they are wrong....Damn, even though I know they are wrong, they are determined they're right. So all I do is just help them along a little.

Someone (think it was the UPS guy) just a few days ago was like 'yeah those things went 11's stock didn't they?' and I was like 'yeah something like that' so I'm guilty too

I love when people would walk up to car and see the column shift and tan leather interior and tell me i should put a nice small block in it and get rid of the 307 . Then i would see them on the street and they were in a monti carlo thinking they were the s---. Needless to say my 307 beat them and then they told me my engine was a 307 and they only had a 305. Like 2 cubic inches are going to put 15 cars on them. I just love it when i told them it was a little 6 cylinder. Same thing happened when i was at union grove .I was in the staging lanes.this was the first time i went to track with car in 1990 or 91. Well i look over and they got me lined up with a 68 charger 440 with dual quads.I was sweating a little. well i went 13.00 and he went 13.40. We got back to the pits and his buddy told him i had a built 455 in my car . he crapped his pants when i popped the hood. I love these cars. Everone always either had one or beat evey one they raced with their mustang
